Altea – La Vieja

Altea la Vieja (“Old Altea”, also”Altea La Vella” mentioned in the Valenciano dialect) is a picturesque borough of Altea, about 3.5KM from Altea city center with its own small village center, shops and even a small old town church. Approximately 600 inhabitants and  a total of 2,400 residents from all over the world, if you count the surrounding housing developments (Alhama and Sierra de Altea). In the urbanization Sierra de Altea is the golf course Don Cayo. With its white houses and located between the sea and mountains. Its fabulous gastronomy and friendly residents along with the excellent climate all year are more than enough reasons to appreciate this place.

In addition to housing developments Sierra de Altea, Alhama Springs there are the urbanizations El Paradiso, Urb.Monte Rico and the Urb. SantaClara. Beautiful villas and estates are located in these housing developments, all of which are protected by the striking Sierra Bernia from the northern weather. Residents from all over Europe and the world ensure an international, cosmopolitan ambience.

Altea la Vieja with two supermarkets, bakery, gas station, post office, international press,hairdresser, hardware store, doctors and its tapas bars and restaurants is the closest supply center for surrounding housing developments. On weekends there is life music in some bars.The transport links of Altea la Vieja for national road and the highway is excellent.
